Andy, John, Kristin, Greg
Ps. Kristin is my roommate, if you couldnt guess :-)
This was the exploring crew, plus me (picture taker). We are an adventurous bunch.

This is a picture down the mine shaft...I held the camera through the bars...oo DANGER...haha. Anywho, its not really that clear but it went down forever into a pit of darkness and when you drop of rock you can hear it just keep falling and when it bounces off the walls it just grows fainter and fainter 'till its too far away to hear. I was pretty amuzed!
All the buildings around the mines are in shambles, and parts of rusty machinery and piles of stone are everywhere.
This is a pictrue of pensive Kristin. As you can see there the walls of the old buildings remain mostly intact but the roofs no longer exist. However, it makes for a cool picture.
Andy and I scaled the wall and climbed into the window. Those stones and crumbling mortar create some excellent climbing holds.
All in all, it was a fun afternoon. Soon, ill be posting some pictures about the Fall Colors up here...gorgeous stuff.

This looks so neat, Melissa! The homeschooler in me just wants to do the field trip thing all over again! Fascinating. And it was a "School of Mines." What a history. Tell us more as time goes on - and can't wait to see the colors.
Way cool Missy! Dad & I wanted to tour a mine when we were there but there wasn't enough time to do it so we toured the mine museum instead, which was very interesting...maybe next time we can do the mine tour. Were those pics taken with the disposable camera?
love to see your pictures! we miss you so much! we are praying for you keep studying hard!love you!
I think Melissa is better off at the mines there Jeff- but good try at getting some company!;-)
Nice pictures Melissa- isn't college the best?!!! LOVED IT! Enjoy every second of it- it goes by way too fast!
